sharing some cute art work.................

I had to share some of the cuteness my students  created this past week... I had just 2 days left of our art rotation and wanted to just show the students how to draw a cartoon version of themselves....I asked them to incorporate their pet in their design and here is what some of them looked like....

just love how adorable kids art work can be....

what a sweet student she is.... always happy and smiling just like her picture.....

they can make the simple things look so sweet...

this student has a pet turtle and said that she loves being outside when she draws.....

this project was a quick lesson....teach, talk, inspire, then let them go and create...

each student  has their own style...

 

they were asked to fill the page and she certainly did just what I asked of her.....

  

they asked me "what if we have fish can we draw them in our pictures"????

  

and my answer was of course!! they are pets too! be creative.. and that's just what she did.....

this boy seems to like fish too!....

   

I love this one.......and his  drawing looks just like him.....

and you can tell his dog loves him too!

 

 I was so happy how this quick little lesson turned out and was happy that the kids learned how to be creative in such a short period of time.....

wanted to share some colorful things that have been going on over here as we get ready for EASTER

PEEPS!!! can't resist.....it must be those amazing colors.....

some melted chocolate chips, a few sprinkles and your favorite peeps

equal some yummy little treats.....thanks to PINTEREST for some amazing Easter ideas...

  

love them peeps...to look at but not so much to eat...well ok maybe just one.....

and while the chocolate was still hot why not some pretzels.....my guys love chocolate covered pretzels....

made these cupcakes with Malted eggs inside....hope everyone likes the special filling.....

 

saw these chicks and loved the colors.I am hoping it was just done in photo shop.....

love painting on paper 53 an app for I-Pad....

a Little bit of Heaven on a dreary spring day.....

I stopped to get some Easter Plants in one of my favorite LOCAL places.....Schulmeister Greenhouses.  We are lucky to have so many wonderful farm markets and stands right here in our town....

walking into the greenhouse was such a great feeling...after the painfully long fall and winter and now a cold spring..... it was like walking into heaven.......

the young plants are busy growing.....

the Geraniums were in full bloom......

and to see such gorgeous color...really  made my day....

I was so excited to see some of my favorites annuals......

I am already thinking  about what I want to buy and where I want to plant them....

I can't wait to get busy in the garden after this crazy fall and winter season.....

March's Art Alliance

What a wonderful night at the Art Alliance of Red Bank NJ  last night...It was the 28th Annual Jean Townsend Award Exhibition.  The themes for the night were "CLOSE UPS' and "IN THE DISTANCE" and it did not disappoint.....

                                                          here is what it looked like....

it was very hard to pick your favorite because they were all so good....

just loved the colors in this little girl painting....

                  after a trip to the emergency room for 4 stitches after a hockey game accident.....

this is a very interesting show and the walls are filled...
