Busy creating all day today......
I have been very busy today creating a new Vintage Fabric Necklace for the class I will be teaching next Saturday in Ocean Grove at http://creativitybythesea.blogspot.com/Creativity by the Sea....check out their blog for more info..I'm sure we could still squeeze a few more students in.....It will be an event you will never forget......

1st Saturday in Asbury Park NJ March 2012
Went into Asbury Park for 1st Saturday to see the art galleries and get a bite to eat with some friends....
We got a late start and when we got in Asbury we could smell all the
great scents coming from all of the restaurants. We tried to find a
place to eat, and we tried and tried (should have made reservations... next
time we will know...) we tried so many places and then landed at Moonstruck.....we were very
nicely surprised... never have been there.....had a great meal, good
drinks, good company, then to see some art....nothing better.... |

| This piece was so interesting and yet so simple......made with monofilament line with pieces of packing tape adhered to the line and wrapped around screws drilled into different pieces of wood at either end of the room.....the shadows that were cast and the way the light reflected off the tape... simply amazing.... |

| these 2 paintings were so detailed with the most gorgeous colors....then with tiny holes in the little shapes...such time, and patience.... |

| each one must have taken weeks to complete....... |

| this exhibit interested me...I love to crochet...these were crocheted from plastic bags to look like sea dollies.... |

| kind of weird using your hair in your art..... but why not!!!!! its free, its part of you...I think it is kinda interesting...our friends didn't like the idea. |

| this was one of the pieces from the last show "The Sum of their parts" it freaked me out last show and I was mentioning it to the curator and he said he still had them behind this wall... There they were....FREAKY!!! I was explaining them to my friends and said how strange and beautiful all at the same time....so when the man said they were still around I had to snap a picture.....they were these beautiful heads with amazing eyes attached to a deer like body with very tiny thin legs.... |

A Great Scrappbooking store....
Have a great scrap book store close by in quaint Milltown NJ. They have everything.....from stamps, dyes, papers,glitter, glues, tapes,you name it they have it....The store is packed with so many wonderful items, it like a candy store for artists.....the colors, the patterns, the textures, I was in Heaven......Saturday and Sunday they are celebrating their 6th Anniversary...Check it out if you can today and you will not be disappointed......

having fun making art.....................
have been very busy creating art for my day job as an art teacher to the middle school students of my town....have also been busy creating new jewelry designs for my etsy site...I love taking pictures of artsy things I see everyday....I have been working on a blog with another artist named Laura McHugh who lives on the West coast.....and I have been busy creating art work for our weekly challenges(www.lauramchughsquared.blogspot.com) I don't think I have ever been so busy with my art...I am so loving playing, experimenting, and creating new pieces.....its amazing how art can calm you and relax you...you should give it a try....here is a few artsy photos I wanted to share with you.......

making cupcakes special........

| she was having an Open House for her New Art Studio......I knew I wanted to make something and I know everyone loves cupcakes....... |

| her name is Suzi Blu so the icing had to be Blue...and we all love pink so that was obvious....... |

| the sprinkles had to be red, pink, and full of hearts....... |
 |
| This is where I had to get creative....so I copied images from her web site and printed them on card stock...(all her favorite paintings, doggie pictures, and logos) and hot glued them to wooden picks.... |

| I think they came out so "sweet"...and so did all the students that came to the open house...... |
